Land Adventures, Arequipa

Pepe and Snr Alejandro

Thanks to Pepe and Snr Alejandro for our tour to the Colca Canyon in August/September.

Pepe is trying to get help for the Health Centre at Tupay in the Canyon. It is a two day walk for sick people from some of the neighbouring villages, and the doctors may not even be there as they are often out visiting pregnant or ill patients. Pepe told us of seeing local people with easily treatable cuts and abrations being left to bleed for many hours as the doctors waited for sterilising equipment to arrive from the top of the canyon by mule. They have only just found a way to sterilise a small amount of equipment on site.

If you would like to find out about donating money to the centre, or other ways to help, you can email Pepe at He speaks excellent English and would really appreciate your help in this impoverisehed but imposing part of Peru.

DJ Zezinho and the Guys from the Favela Rochina, Rio De Jenheiro

Thanks for an awesome tour around your favela in Rio!

Zezinho has recently started a DJ school to for favela kids and adults in Rochina. He’s always on the look out for help in any form, but particularly in donations of DJ equipment or sponsorship. If you an help or would simply like to find out more, you can find his website here. He is a passionate and organised guy doing good work in a tough environment, working out of a small apartment. If you have an old mixer or mic lying around that still works, give Zeninho a shout and see if you can help.

Amy and Friends, Buenos Aires

Amy was introduced to us by our friends in the US who had met her when they lived in BA for a while. Thanks for showing us around Amy, and for giving us a slice of culture and intellectualism that was lacking in a good number of the dorm-rooms we ended up in in Buenos Aires. Thanks also to Open Show Buenos Aires for a great evening!

Friends and Family in Australia

Australia was wet and expensive and, for such a fantastic country, could have been slightly spoiled for us had it not been for a fantastic time provided by our friends and family who were there. Massive thankyous to:

Lucy, Nick, Isabelle, Ella and Thea. It was such a pleasure to hang out with you guys in Sydney after the wierd existence of three months in South America!

Rohan and Sasha. Thankyou for making us so welcome in Melbourne. We loved your house so much we barely wanted to leave! Thankyou also for your generosity and good humour with your grumpy Pommie mates!

Our Melbourne hosts, Rohan and Sasha

Sandra, Phil, Jim, Joan and Family. Thankyou for an excellent, if wet day in Melbourne. You can’t control the weather, but you can make us feel incredibly welcome. A real pleasure!
