Cuzco

After a week on the road, we´re finding our feet and catching our breath in Cuzco – a gorgeous old city (capital of the Inca empire) which is about 11 thousand feet above sea level.  It is seriously quite hard to catch your breath at first, but we now have lungs of steel!

We´re managing to make ourselves understood in Spanish after 3 lessons and muchos practice on our Peruvian family, who are endlessly patient and very good at charades! We will be fluent before the week is out! The old woman in the launderette understood us well enough, although we failed to understand that 6 o´clock actually meant 7 (she had to finish her card game). Hey ho.

The weather is sunny by day and COLD at night. The ruins are plentiful, the children are very cute and people like to fly kites on a Sunday…

That´s it for now, we thought this might be a fun theme park to share with all you pigeon lovers…
